2010 Kermaxx Provincial Off Road Series Format
The series is a combination of Hare Scramble (HS) and Cross Country (XC) events throughout Alberta.
Points are awarded to the riders that finish in the top twenty of their Class at each event. Placement in the overall series is determined by summing points from 70-percent of the events held, as shown in Table 1.

There are no participation minimums to qualify for an award; there is no distinction between North and South events; and the same format applies to all Classes, including Pro.
After best results are tallied, ties for the top five (podium) positions will be broken by:
1. The last event in which all of the tied riders finished in the top 20. For this tie-breaker, 100-percent of the races held are used.
2. If necessary: Most 1st place finishes; most 2nd place finishes; etc. For this tie-breaker, 70-percent of the races held are used.
Note: The number of results tallied is based on the actual number of events held in the series, not the number of events originally planned. For example if 14 events are planned and four are cancelled, series scores are tallied from each riderŐs best seven results.
This series format allows the Alberta series to expand itŐs venues without creating excessive travel requirements and time commitments for participants. A reasonable amount of direct competition will occur between Northern and Southern riders, and more participants will be in the running for the top five series podium positions.
