Top End Promotions Inc. (Gerry and Heather Nelson) have been hosting the Western Canadian Amateur National Motocross Championships (WCAN) at Temple Hill Motorcycle Park since its inception in 1998. The time has come, Gerry and Heather have decided to retire from the event. In doing so they want to thank the riders, sponsors, volunteers, the Lethbridge Motorcycle Club and the Over the Bars Club, who all have helped over the past 12 years to make this event a reality and the highlight of each racing season. The annual event gave Temple Hill Motorcycle Park the recognition it deserved as one of the top ranked tracks in Canada.

To that end, to continue the legacy of Temple Hill and in the spirit of a Club atmosphere, the Lethbridge Motorcycle Club and the Over the Bars Club are excited to announce that together, they are taking over the management and hosting of the Western Canadian Amateur National Motocross Championships, starting this year with the 13th Annual WCAN, June 30, July 1-3, 2010.

Watch the event website www.cdnmx.com for updates and for information on Temple Hill Motorcycle Park and the happenings with the Lethbridge Motorcycle Club check out www.cdnmx.com/lmc. See you at the race's!

Akie Pronk passed away suddenly at his home in Edgewater, BC on Tuesday, July 7.

Akie and his family (Pascale and Brandon) were very involved with the motocross scene in BC and Alberta. Akie will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He always had time for everyone and always lent a hand to help.

There will be a memorial for Akie on Monday, July 13 at 2:00 PM at the Edgewater Legion.

Akie's passing has left a huge financial burden for Pascale as both Pascal and Akie recently lost their jobs. It is being requested now, that if you can find it in your hearts to make a donation to Pascal to help her during this time of burden, she would greatly appreciate the help and support.

Anne Bonneau in Calgary and Heather Nelson in Lethbridge are taking donations on behalf of Pascale.

Please contact either at the numbers below to make a donation by cash, cheque or credit card.

Anne Bonneau (403) 232-6252 (work) or (403) 246-2025 (home).

Heather Nelson (403) 328-8481 (work) or (403) 308-4781 (cell).
